| INTRODUCTION: |
| This course is designed to meet the requirements for training laid out in the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code) and the guidance laid out in the SOLAS Regulations 1974.
The Ship Security Officer position was formalised under the regulations listed above and the training has become mandatory for all those wishing to fulfil the role of the Ship Security Officer on vessels over 500 tonnes.

Successful candidates will achieve a certificate, approved by NIMASA and Transport Malta.
